Canal du Midi,   |   Sept. 2003   |	Leaving an empty lock below Carcassonne. The water is spilling over the top because the water level in the upper basin is too high. The height of the lock gates is reduced by the sill at the base. The sides are curved to increase the strength of the side walls.
